#5 The Breezy Volcano – Best Infinity Pool out of all hotels In Kintamani.

About 15 minutes’ walk from the village area, The Breezy Volcano is a self-contained getaway with all the essential facilities. We’ve experienced a lot of infinity pools since moving to Bali, but this is one of the best we’ve seen in Kintamani.

LOCATION | The property is at the end of a bumpy hillside track leading away from the lakeside. The starting point of the main Mount Batur trek is a short distance away.

FACILITIES | If you don’t feel like grabbing a bite at one of the village eateries, the property has its own restaurant serving up Indonesian staples.

There’s free private parking on site, or the staff can arrange a shuttle to ferry you to and from the airport.

ROOM | Our favourite thing about the rooms here are the glass walls, which means you wake up to gorgeous views once you slip aside the curtains. The furnishings are simple but nice.

#6 Batur Green Hill – Best For Hiking Mount Batur.

A little cluster of huts just steps from the start of the sunrise hike starting point, Batur Green Hill feels like a little community of people with a similar agenda: to chillax in glorious nature!

FACILITIES | Ticking the must-have boxes, Batur Green Hill serves up a complimentary breakfast, free parking, and an infinity pool that overlooks the local scenery.
ROOM | Rooms are neat and tidy, though on the simpler side. Each one comes with a little outdoor area where you can relax with a cup of coffee or a cheeky sundowner.

#7 Tegal Sari Cabin Kintamani – Best Balcony Views.

Our favourite feature at the Tegal Sari Cabins are hands down the balconies. From these, you have unparalleled views into the lush valley below.

FACILITIES | As part of the room rate, you get free parking and a basic but delicious breakfast of banana fritters. Although there isn’t much else in the way of facilities, the hosts are great for helping to arrange anything you need.

#8 Ayodya Batur Villa – Best For A Rural Retreat.

Just coming to Kintamani can feel like leaving civilization behind, but the bungalows at Ayodya Batur Villa are wonderfully secluded even for this already isolated area.

LOCATION | The lake is about 10 minutes away by car, while Kintamani village can be reached in around 20 minutes.

FACILITIES | We were glad to find out this place has it’s own restaurant, because otherwise you’d have to shlep back and forth to one of the nearby villages each time you wanted to eat! There’s also free private parking on site.

ROOM | All of the rooms are sizable and come with fantastic views. For a real treat, book the suite, which has a ginormous bathroom with a bathtub where you can soak at the end of the day, once the temperature drops in the mountains.

LOCATION | The northern end of Lake Batur is almost on your doorstep. Restaurants and shops are a short drive or a half-hour walk.

FACILITIES | A communal pool fed by the waters of the hot springs and facing towards the lake is the highlight here, but we also like the daily local breakfast (included in the room rate).

You’ll probably have driven to get here, so it’s handy that there’s free on-site parking.

ROOM | Choose between the slightly cheaper traditional-style huts or the newer cabins that come with their own private plunge pool with water from the hot springs. Both options are compact, cozy, and feature patios.
