#1 The St. Regis Bali Resort – Extravagant Bali Resort With Private Beach.

Even in Nusa Dua, there are few 5 star resorts in Bali with private beach access that are quite as opulent as the St. Regis. If you’re after more of a bling-bling experience, this is the place for chandeliers and champagne.

LOCATION: The Bali National Golf Club is extremely close by, while the Bali Collection shopping and entertainment complex is a short drive or a half-hour walk away.

FACILITIES: Beachfront Kayuputi is the flagship fine-dining restaurant here, but there are several other F&B options, including the suave St. Regis Bar, the traditional Balinese dishes of Dulang, and our personal favourite: a private candlelit dinner upon the sands.

There are multiple pools on the property, including the main lagoon that anchors the hotel, as well as a luxurious spa, a gym, and a children’s learning centre to keep the kids busy.

ROOMS: Size does matter at the St. Regis, where the smallest room is a sprawling 92 square metres (990 square feet) and the largest features four bedrooms and its very own private plunge pool.

We really appreciate how all the accommodation incorporates elements of Indonesian arts and crafts, from the bespoke furniture to the carved wall art.

      #2 The Ritz-Carlton Bali – A Class Act.

Another contender for the best Bali hotel with private beach access, the Ritz-Carlton exudes sophistication from every pore, whether you are relaxing in your private villa or enjoying the spa’s Hydro-Vital Pool.

LOCATION: There are multiple golf courses within driving distance, as well as several public beaches if you want to go beyond the precincts of the resort’s exclusive shoreline.

FACILITIES: We could spend all day lounging in the Ritz’s main infinity pool, which provides panoramic views of the Indian Ocean. The restaurants aren’t too shabby either, whether you fancy some authentic Indonesian fare, grilled seafood, or a full-on buffet.

For couples, there’s an excellent spa, romantic meals for two, and even a beachfront chapel. For families, there’s an extensive programme of daily activities, including beach bonfires, football, and craft workshops.

ROOMS: A total of 313 rooms sit on the property, ranging from elegant suites to modernist villas with private infinity pools.

#3 Samabe Bali Suites & Villas – One Of The Best All-Inclusive Hotels In Bali With Private Beach.

Who wants to sweat the prices when they’re on vacation? The Samabe takes that concern right off the table with its all-inclusive offering, which covers food, drinks, and a range of entertaining activities.

LOCATION | Perched atop a cliff, the hotel has dreamy views over the ocean. At the foot of the rockface sits the private beach, which is reached via a flight of stairs.

FACILITIES | Our favourite thing here is easily the range of complimentary activities, which include kayaking, windsurfing, snorkelling, yoga, dancing lessons, art classes, and cooking courses. There’s also a kids’ club to keep the little ones entertained when they’re not diving in and out of the pool.

Speaking of the pool, it’s one of the highlights of the Samabe Bali Suites & Villas, boasting spectacular views thanks to the resort’s clifftop location. This is complemented by a small spa, a couple of different restaurants serving a mix of Western and Asian cuisine, and a 24-hour gym.

ROOMS | While we found the décor here fairly unremarkable, we do appreciate that every one of the 42 villas comes with its own private pool, where you can relax away from the resort’s other guests.

#4 The Laguna, A Luxury Collection Resort & Spa – Lagoon Pools and Private Beachfront.

A grand total of 257 guest rooms and 19 suites are spread across the expansive Laguna property, which gets its name from the seven lagoon swimming pools that weave in and out of the buildings.

LOCATION: Nearby are the Nusa Dua Convention Centre and the Bali Collection shopping complex, while the Peninsula Island, with its statues, famous blowhole, and nightly dance performances, is a 15-minute walk or a short shuttle ride away.

FACILITIES: Grilled surf and turf are on the menu at beachfront Arwana, while Kulkul Beach House is a great place to grab a cocktail. For health buffs, there’s not just a fitness centre but a couple of tennis courts, plus a well-equipped spa.

One of the best resorts in Bali on the beach for wedding celebrations, the Laguna can arrange ceremonies on the sand or in its gardens, with a couple of different ballrooms to suit receptions of various sizes.

ROOMS: While villas here come with a private pool, we actually prefer the lagoon access suites, which offer better value for money. Impeccably attired in crisp whites and soothing greys, they feature private balconies that open out directly onto one of the resort’s lagoons.

Luxury Resorts With Private Beach In Bali: Uluwatu

On the western side of the Bukit Peninsula, Uluwatu has some of the nicest beaches in all of Bali, as well as excellent waves for experienced surfers. Here, you’ll find some of the best resorts in Bali with private beach access for canoodling couples who want to be somewhere that’s a little remoter than Nusa Dua or Jimbaran.

#5 The Ungasan Clifftop Resort – Best Hotel In Bali With Private Beach For Activities.

A hotel with private beach in Bali that features a whole bunch of adventurous activities, the Ungasan Clifftop Resort has one of the best spots on the coast, hovering majestically over the sea.

LOCATION: The Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, which boasts the tallest statue in Indonesia, is about 20 minutes away, as is Uluwatu Temple, a striking coastal shrine where you can experience the Kecak fire dance and observe playful native monkeys.

FACILITIES | Aside from the private beach, the Ungasan also contains a spa, grass and hard tennis courts, a gym, a putting green, an all-day restaurant, and an infinity pool that gazes out over the sea below.

The hotel can arrange a lot of private activities, including barbecues, surfing lessons, elephant rides, ATV tours, and more.

ROOMS | Choose from between one-bedroom suites with shared pools and five-bedroom villas that come with private infinity pools and their own gardens.

#6 Bulgari Resort Bali – Clifftop Escape With Exclusive Beach Cove.

One of the most pristine 5-star beach resorts in Bali, the Bulgari is an exceptional all-villa resort combining clifftop views and a private sandy cove.

LOCATION: If you want to experience other shorelines than Bulgari’s private beach, there are several excellent options a short drive away, including Melasti Beach for sunbathing and Padang Padang for surfing.

FACILITIES: Arguably the best private beach resort in Bali, we’re big fans of Bulgari’s immaculate sands, which are only accessible via the resort’s elevator, assuring complete seclusion for hotel guests. To keep you fed and watered, there’s also a beach club and a grill restaurant, La Spiaggia, beside the water.

Up on the clifftop within the main hotel, there’s a fabulous selection of top-notch amenities, including a spa, a gym, an intimate Italian restaurant, an all-day eatery with Indonesian and Italian dishes, and an infinity pool with panoramic views.

ROOMS: Top-of-the-line audiovisual equipment meets authentic Indonesian fabrics and artworks in Bulgari’s villas, each one of which comes with its own sundeck and plunge pool. Sizes range from one-bedroom couples’ pads of 300 square metres (3,229 square feet) to enormous, five-bedroom mansions with huge pools.

#7 Karma Kandara – Tranquil Seclusion.

Boasting one of the nicest spas of all resorts in Bali with private beach access, Karma Kandara is another hotel that is divided between clifftop and beach.

LOCATION: While the property is in a secluded spot along the south coast of the Bukit Peninsula, there are several other beaches within a short drive.

FACILITIES: The main restaurant is an all-white affair serving up pretty plates of Mediterranean cuisine, with stunning views framing the tables. There’s also a Moroccan-style lounge up top, while down by the sea a well-equipped beach club exudes a casual chic vibe.

Our favourite thing at Karma Kandara, however, is the spa, which boasts some of the most beautiful open-air treatment ‘bales’ we’ve ever seen, alongside an infrared sauna and a plunge pool.

Water sports, a gym, and a kids’ club round out the facilities.

ROOMS: Villas range from one bedroom to five bedrooms, each one comfortably decorated with cooling stone floors, wooden furnishings, and its own private pool.

Best Hotels In Bali With Private Beach: Jimbaran

As well as having some of the finest beachfront accommodations Bali has to offer, Jimbaran is also a hub for excellent seafood restaurants and gorgeous sunsets. The waves here are generally quite gentle, making the area excellent for sedate swimming, standup paddleboarding, and ocean kayaking. It’s also excellent if you don’t want a long drive from the airport, which is just 15 minutes away.

#8 AYANA Resort Bali – One of the best beachfront resorts in Bali For Options.

Part of a sprawling complex that has 26 bars and restaurants, 14 different pools, two spas, and two gyms, the AYANA has masses to entertain any guest – just crossing the entire estate can feel like a day’s journey!

LOCATION: The main stretch of Jimbaran Beach, with its famed seafood restaurants, is about 10 minutes drive away, while the Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park is about 15.

FACILITIES: Few resorts in Bali with private beach access have quite as much going on as the AYANA. Aside from all those different culinary experiences and swimming areas we’ve already mentioned, there’s also an 18-hole miniature golf course, tennis courts, a kids’ club, and a monkey forest.

One of our favourite places to hang out here is the Rock Bar, a stylish al fresco cocktail lounge built into the cliff face that’s a great place to model your most glam outfit in the evenings.

ROOMS: As you would expect from a place that occupies 90 hectares, there’s a lot of accommodation to choose from, including double rooms with private balconies and suites that contain two bedrooms, a large living room, and terraces with daybeds.

#9 Raffles Bali – A Soothing Spa Escape.

The Raffles Bali may be the best resort in Bali with private beach access for those seeking a rejuvenating idyll. Where else will you find a well-being butler who will help you craft a custom experience to meet your holiday needs?

LOCATION: Just a 10-minute walk from the beach, this hotel has lots of restaurants, beach clubs, and cafes in its vicinity.

FACILITIES: Let’s start with one of the Raffles’ main attractions: its wellness facilities, which include a sumptuous spa with couples’ treatment suites, a meditation terrace, and a relaxation area with manicure stations. For exercise, there’s a jogging track, a short hill hike, tennis courts, and a fitness centre.

It’s hard for us to decide where we prefer to relax more, in the infinity pool or on the private beach, but what we know for sure is that the Loloan Beach Bar and Grill does some excellent wood-fired pizzas.

ROOMS: Just 32 villas are on offer at this resort, each one a perfectly proportioned gem with hardwood floors, a batik tapestry, and a private plunge pool framed with an outdoor dining area.

#10 Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay – Scenic Luxury.

Bursting with Balinese flavour, the Four Seasons perfectly blends 5-star facilities into its natural surroundings, which include landscaped tropical gardens and a private beach.

LOCATION | One of the best-located resorts in Bali with private beach access, the Four Seasons is both unoverlooked and a very short distance from the main Jimbaran Beach with its excellent seafood eateries.

FACILITIES | For us, the excellent spa is probably the standout feature – that and the communal infinity pool that looks out onto the sea.

The property also boasts three restaurants, a kids’ club, a gym, and a cooking academy. Through the front desk, you can arrange all sorts of private experiences, including surf lessons, sightseeing tours, and painting classes.

ROOMS | Thatched roofs, carved wooden furniture, private plunge pools surrounded by tropical foliage – the villas here show off a perfect cocktail of natural splendour, Indonesian craftsmanship, and luxury conveniences.

Remote Resorts With Private Beach Access In Bali

In this final section, we’ve put together a trio of the best Bali resorts on the beach that aren’t located in hotel hubs. These properties are found on the more sparsely populated northern coast, perfect for those who prefer to be in splendid isolation rather than surrounded by fellow travellers.

#11 Spa Village Resort Tembok Bali – One Of the top beach resorts in Bali With All-Inclusive Packages.

One of the best beach resorts in Bali for honeymoon holidays, the Spa Village Resort offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner as part of the room rate, as well as a daily 50-minute spa treatment.

LOCATION: Far to the northeast of Bali, it can take almost four hours to get to the resort during peak traffic times, but the trade-off is a relatively untouched coastline that’s not far from the waterfalls and lake of the island’s highlands.

FACILITIES: Aside from the wraps, masques, and massages, the Spa Village Resort also has yoga and meditation sessions, an infinity pool that looks out over the ocean, and an all-day restaurant that mixes Indonesian classics with Western favourites.

The hotel can also arrange some incredible experiences, including waterfall adventures, sunset cruises, and artisan workshops.

ROOMS: The bedrooms here are designed to be subtly lit in the evenings, setting the mood for romance. Each one comes with a scenic balcony and a soothing bathtub.

Upgrade to a villa, and you can spend your days floating in your own private plunge pool.

#12 Louka Beach Bali – Intimate And Rustic.

One of the smaller resorts in Bali with private beach access, Louka has just nine bungalows, all designed with a charming rustic aesthetic.

LOCATION: On the same stretch of coastline as the Spa Village Resort, Louka Beach Bali is similarly distant from civilization, which makes for a peaceful getaway.

FACILITIES: In addition to the tranquil beach, the property also has a couple of different swimming pools, a restaurant and bar, a pool table, a pétanque court, and a massage area nestled amidst its verdant grounds.

Scooters are available to rent, so you can explore a bit further afield if you tire of your little slice of beach paradise. That’s not the only diversion on offer, however: the Louka staff can also arrange dolphin watching, scuba diving, sea fishing, canoeing, and paddleboarding.

ROOMS: Each of the cute little bungalows is uniquely decorated with hand-made pieces of furniture and examples of artisanal crafts. Built for couples, the bedroom is the heart of the hut, with a small terrace out front and a semi-open bathroom behind.

#13 Plataran Menjangan Resort and Spa – Ecotourist Magnet.

The last of our Bali hotels with private beach access, Plataran Menjangan Resort and Spa, offers a truly unique experience amidst gorgeous natural beauty.

LOCATION: The surrounding area is a centre for ecotourism, with mangrove swamps, coral reefs, and diverse wildlife. It’s a pretty long drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport (between four and six hours, depending on traffic), so you may be better off flying into Banyuwangi International Airport from Jakarta and crossing to Bali on the ferry.

FACILITIES: On site, you’ll find a restaurant, an infinity pool, and a spa, but the main attraction of the Plataran is its fantastic location.

To help you get the most out of the gorgeous coastline and surrounding forest, the hotel provides complimentary bikes and kayaks, though you can also go on boat cruises, diving expeditions, and guided hikes for an additional fee.

ROOMS: While there are several quaintly rustic bungalows, we much prefer the modern mangrove villas, which are not only more spacious with better views but are also decked out in a fashionable contemporary style.

Resorts In Bali With Private Beach: FAQs

Are there any private beaches in Bali?

Yes, there are lots of 5-star Bali resorts on the beach that offer their guests exclusive use of the sandy shoreline. Many of them are located on the Bukit Peninsula, but you can also find luxury hotels with private beaches in other secluded spots around the island, including along the northern coast.

Where are the best private beaches in Bali?

Many of the most exclusive resorts in Bali have excellent private beaches, but some of our favourites are the Bulgari, the Four Seasons, and the Louka, each of which offers a completely different vibe, depending on whether you want opulent isolation, stylishly designed villas just off popular tourist centres, or rustic charm.

What is the most luxurious area to stay in Bali?

It’s really more about the individual property than a particular area, but Nusa Dua is definitely something of a hub for top luxury beach resorts in Bali. There are a ton of international 5-star spots in this area, including the St. Regis and the Ritz-Carlton, attracting movie stars and the kind of uber-wealthy that wouldn’t look out of place in a season of The White Lotus.

      Are Bali beaches swimmable?

Absolutely, there are lots of Bali beaches that have very calm seas, including Jimbaran. On the other hand, there are also a lot of Balinese beaches that have wilder waves that attract experienced surfers looking for a bit of excitement. It’s important to do your research first to make sure you’re getting the right type of beach for you.

What is the most remote beach in Bali?

While the beaches on the northern and eastern coast of Bali don’t have the silky-smooth sandy shorelines that other parts of the island boast, they are definitely the most remote. If you’re someone who values nature, seclusion, and the road less travelled, then you should cast your net in this area for your perfect Bali escape. Our favourite, more remote beach is the white-sanded Virgin beach.

Resorts In Bali With Private Beach: Final Thoughts

There are quite a few resorts in Bali with private beach access, which is hardly surprising given the Indonesian island’s fame as one of the premier destinations in the entire world for sand, sea, and sun.

Whether you’re looking for hotels at the pinnacle of luxury or more rustic spots with just a handful of bungalows, hopefully, this post has given you plenty of information to start planning your next holiday.
