Private Pool Villas In Kuta Bali: FAQ

Is Kuta good to stay in Bali?

We are Bali residents who know the island well, and we think Kuta is a good place to stay in Bali, for families and more mature travellers.

If you had asked us a few years ago, you might have received a different answer, but present-day Kuta is a very different place.

The area still has good transport links, great shopping, fun activities and lots of bars and restaurants but it is quieter and less crowded than it used to be. It is also less frenetic, and this has made it a more attractive destination to a wider range of visitors.

However, Kuta is a well-developed location, so if you yearn for a rural location and an authentic Bali experience, Kuta may not be the destination for you. But, if you love shopping, great restaurants, good transport links, plus a wide range of sights and activities, Kuta is the ideal location for you.

How much does a private villa in Bali cost?

The cost of private pool villas in Kuta – or in Bali as a whole – depends on the location, size and facilities of the villa and what time of year you are visiting.

Bali is a popular year-round destination, so prices do not drastically drop as they do in other global destinations. However, prices reach their peak from December to February, so avoid this time if you want to find the best hotel or villa deals.

Large villas and villas with private pools will cost more than small villas, and villas with high-end finishes will cost more than simply furnished ones.

Generally speaking, you can expect to pay from £50 / $63 for a small private pool villa for two people in the budget-friendly category. This increases to around £150 / $189 a night for a two-person villa on a 4 or 5-star resort.

However, the most luxurious villas in Bali –  such as those at the 5-star Anvaya Resort, which sleeps four people – can cost over £1000 / $1260 a night.

Is it better to stay in Kuta or Seminyak?

Seminyak and Kuta have many similarities. Each area offers excellent shopping, cultural and fun activities, lively bars and beach clubs, plus diverse restaurants. Both Kuta and Seminyak have a range of accommodations to suit all travel styles and budgets.

We think that the only difference is that Seminyak offers a more upscale holiday experience with a range of luxury boutique hotels and fine dining options

Kuta has a strong local vibe, has a lot of budget accommodation options and tends to be favoured by older travellers.

Is it better to stay in Kuta or Nusa Dua?

Whether you stay in Kuta or Nusa Dua depends on your travel preferences and what you want to get out of your trip to Bali.

If you like to stay in luxury resorts where you have everything you need on-site, Nusa Dua is a good choice. The area has amazing beaches, but it is a little bit secluded and lacks a wide range of non-hotel-based restaurants and cafes.

If you choose to stay in Nusa Dua, you will need to hire a car if you want to get out and about to explore Bali, but if you are the type of traveller who never leaves the resort, Nusa Dua is a good choice for you.

Kuta has decent beaches and great shopping, but it is also more centrally located and a better choice for travellers that want to explore more of Bali.

Foodies will love the wide choice of independent restaurants and cafes, and there are plenty of activities to satisfy adrenaline junkies or cultural fans.

Plus, it has a better range of budget accommodation.

How many days are enough for Kuta Bali?

How many days you spend in Kuta depends on what you want to do there and whether you use Kuta as a base to explore the rest of the island.

If you are solely visiting Kuta before moving to another Bali destination, we think 2 – 3 days is plenty of time to visit some temples, browse the shops, enjoy the beaches, sample the nightlife and take a surfing lesson.
