We are Bali residents who know the island well, and we think Kuta is a good place to stay in Bali, for families and more mature travellers.
If you had asked us a few years ago, you might have received a different answer, but present-day Kuta is a very different place.
The area still has good transport links, great shopping, fun activities and lots of bars and restaurants but it is quieter and less crowded than it used to be. It is also less frenetic, and this has made it a more attractive destination to a wider range of visitors.
However, Kuta is a well-developed location, so if you yearn for a rural location and an authentic Bali experience, Kuta may not be the destination for you. But, if you love shopping, great restaurants, good transport links, plus a wide range of sights and activities, Kuta is the ideal location for you.
How much does a private villa in Bali cost?
The cost of private pool villas in Kuta – or in Bali as a whole – depends on the location, size and facilities of the villa and what time of year you are visiting.
