Resorts & Hotels In Nusa Penida: FAQ

What part of Nusa Penida is best to stay in?

If you’re a first-time visitor, we recommend staying in the northern part of the island, either near Crystal Bay Beach or Toya Pakeh Harbour.

Both areas have a good range of shops and restaurants. If you want to stay near a great beach, choose Crystal Bay, which is also relatively close to the island’s most iconic attractions, such as Kelingking Beach, Angel’s Billabong and Broken Beach.

Plus, there are plenty of budget-friendly options for accommodation, from guesthouses to cosy homestays.

Is going to Nusa Penida worth it?

Let us tell you, Nusa Penida is absolutely worth visiting. While most visitors come for a day trip, we highly recommend staying for at least 1-2 nights to experience the magic of the island truly.

The island’s landscape is truly out of this world, and its dramatic cliff-top view will leave you speechless. And don’t even get us started on the unspoiled beaches that will make you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden paradise. Trust us, and you do not want to miss out on the natural wonders of Nusa Penida.

Is it better to stay on Nusa Penida or Lembongan?

Both are known for their crystal-clear waters, exotic beaches, and stunning sunsets. But the question remains: where to stay?

Nusa Penida boasts a dramatic landscape that will leave you in awe with its rugged cliffs and turquoise waters. The island is perfect for adventure seekers with activities such as diving and cliff jumping.

You’ll also find plenty of Instagram-worthy locations, such as Kelingking Beach and the famous treehouse, where you actually need to queue to take a shot.

On the other hand, Nusa Lembongan offers a more chilled island vibe, making it ideal for families looking to unwind. The island’s expansive beaches offer safe swimming for all ages, making it an excellent place for a relaxing day in the sun.

How many days are enough for Nusa Penida?

The answer to this question depends on what you want to see and do while you’re there!

With its extraordinary natural beauty and various iconic sights like Kelingking Beach, Crystal Bay, and Diamond Beach, it’s easy to get lost in the awe-inspiring scenery. While some visitors may only require a day trip to venture around the island, others could spend an entire week soaking up the beautiful atmosphere.

It truly depends on the traveller’s preferences and the time available. However, with so much to explore, we recommend taking at least 2 to 3 days to explore all the hidden gems of Nusa Penida fully.

Can you swim in Nusa Penida beach?

The answer is yes and no. While some beaches, like Crystal Bay in the north and Atuh Beach on the southern end, are safe, others, like Kelingking Beach and Diamond Beach, can be dangerous due to strong currents and huge waves.

These two beaches are considered the most epic and are worth visiting, but it’s important to exercise caution and swim at your own risk and only when the conditions are suitable.

Do you need a car in Nusa Penida?

While there are options to hire a scooter for a more affordable mode of transport, if you’re looking for a comfortable, hassle-free ride, then hiring a car with a driver is the way to go.

With winding and steep roads on the island, driving can be quite challenging and even dangerous for inexperienced drivers. Plus, having a knowledgeable local driver will also provide you with valuable insights into the area’s culture and best attractions. Car service rates start at $50 for an 8-hour day of driving.

      Why is Nusa Penida famous?

The island’s jagged cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and stunning beaches have been featured in countless travel blogs and Instagram posts, leaving visitors in awe of its breathtaking beauty. Visitors can explore the island’s many iconic spots, including the famous Kelingking Beach with its epic T-Rex-shaped cliff and the stunning Diamond Beach. Nusa Penida is also famous for snorkelling with manta rays.

Is Gili better than Nusa Penida?

Both islands are stunning in their own right, and where you decide to go depends on the type of experience you’re looking for.

Gili Islands are known for their white-sand beaches and sparkling turquoise waters. The island is car-free, making it perfect for island exploration by foot or bicycle. The snorkelling and diving scene is second to none, with colourful coral reefs and the chance to spot sea turtles.

Meanwhile, Nusa Penida is a photographer’s dream with its dramatic, soaring cliffs and Instagram-famous locations like Kelingking Beach and Crystal Bay. It’s a fantastic destination for those seeking adventure and natural beauty.

Hotels & Resorts In Nusa Penida: Final Word

The high-quality resorts in Nusa Penida offer the perfect opportunity for visitors to Bali to get away from it all and relax and unwind.

You will not find sprawling multi-storey hotels here. Instead, you will find upscale, small properties run by local families offering a mix of modern and more rustic style accommodation.

You will have all the tourist facilities you need as well as a range of activities to do and sites to visit and explore. You can be as active or as inactive as you like on a trip to Nusa Penida.
